There is still an outside chance that Ravens LT Jared Gaither will be a Cowboy in 2010.

Flo is really taking hits, just about everywhere. I haven’t seen anyone who is on his side. It might just be time to move him on. You guys even rate him as our worst lineman. Gaither is a player, but he has injury concerns, and what will he cost. Maybe we need to trade some people and move up a little in the draft. I’m not for giving up any picks. We could move 7 or 8 players for 2nd and 3rd rounders. IMO Spears,Hurd,Watkins,and/or Crayton could go without replacement. Others like Flo,Bennett, and Kosier could go, but would have to be replaced. Also, Bennett and Kosier would have trade value, but we could draft immediate fill-ins. Your guy Pouncey for Kosier, and Graham for depth to replace Bennett. Tampa and St.Louis are loaded with picks. Cincy and Oakland might trade to fill needs with proven players. Cleveland has 12 picks and all kinds of needs. However, I am wary of Holmgren. Then there is Parcells, who might work with us. Again we’d have to be wary. Buffalo and Seattle are options as well. Pete might be a little gullible as well. I’m saying do what is necessary in the 1st to get who you want. Move up thru trade to get your guy. Then trade to get a couple of earlier picks in the 2nd and 3rd. Don’t give up picks, trade current players.

I agree with your assessment of the players that could leave, other than Spears. Although Hatcher and Bowen are capable backups, Spears is underrated because of his lack of sacks. An injury to Hatcher or Bowen would be trouble for Dallas without Spears. Also, don’t forget all three players are RFAs (now if we can get 2nd round picks for Bowen or Hatcher, that is a diff story).

I’m not sure Pouncey would be as effective as Kosier right off the bat. Remember, Kosier gave up just one sack all season and really scored high in our grades. He is very underrated.

My position on Spears is because I expect Dixon to make the team and contribute. I think the coaches are pretty high on him. The Kosier thing is simply because he would have good trade value. I would much rather get rid of Flo,Hurd,Watkins, etc. The problem is the lack of value. I want picks, to get younger, while maintaining quality. I’m willing to give Bennett one more year. However, he better keep his yap closed and produce. With a prospect like Graham out there, we have options. Phillips can back up and play two tights.

I like Dixon too…hope he can step up this year. Still, I don’t think letting Spears go without spending a top pick on a DE would be smart.
