At Dallas News, I broke down the Brandon Carr-Vincent Jackson matchup. Of Carr’s 24 snaps on Jackson, 22 came in press coverage.

The only time Freeman even looked Jackson’s way with Carr in a press position was on the Bucs’ first drive. With a 1st and 10 at the Cowboys 12-yard line, the Bucs lined up in “Strong Left.”

The Cowboys showed man coverage, and Freeman correctly assessed it. He looked Jackson’s way on a fade, getting rid of the football in a hurry due to quick pressure from DeMarcus Ware.

Carr played the route beautifully. He pressed Jackson until five yards, using his body to ride Jackson toward the sideline. As the pair reached the end zone, Carr was hip to hip with Jackson. He spun to look for the football, continuing to ride Jackson out of bounds. You can get away with a whole lot of contact if you’re looking back to the football, and Carr displayed that perfectly on this play.
