Is Jason Hatcher the most underrated player on the Cowboys?

At Dallas News, I examined Jason Hatcher’s 2012 season, arguing that he’s the most underrated player on the team right now.

And if there’s one stat that proves just how effective Hatcher has been as a pass-rusher this season, it’s this one; his 7.5 percent pressure rate is nearly the same as some guy named DeMarcus Ware (7.8 percent). Yes, Hatcher has nearly just as many quarterback pressures as perhaps the top all-around pass-rusher in the NFL.

As a run defender, Hatcher has already broken his career-high in tackles. Having never recorded greater than 2.2 tackles per game prior to 2012, Hatcher is sitting at 2.9 tackles per game this year. With just 41.6 percent of his snaps coming against the run, that’s a solid mark.
