I published two articles at Dallas Morning News today, both on tackling. The first was a comparison of the Cowboys’ missed tackles to top defenses around the league:

To judge if the Cowboys are any worse than other teams at tackling, I charted their tackle rate (the percentage of tackles they made compared to what they could have made), i.e. tackles divided by tackles attempted. Simple. Below, you can see the Cowboys’ tackle rate as compared to the top four defenses in the league last year. The missed tackle figures are courtesy of Pro Football Focus.
