So many of you know that I’m doing a daily fantasy football series called “Staking Bales” at 4for4. The owner of the site, Josh Moore, has staked me $2,000 to show you guys how to grow (and hopefully not lose) a fantasy football bankroll. Well, here are my results from Week 1:

I have to be honest: I was a little worried about Week 1. If you recall from my intro into this “Staking Bales” series, Josh has staked me $2,000 to play on four daily fantasy sites in an effort to show you guys how to build a bankroll. Well, sometimes you lose in daily fantasy football. Even if I’m a long-term winner, there’s no way I can be profitable each and every week. Not even close.

I knew heading into Week 1 that it wouldn’t be a major concern if we lost money, but I still wanted to remain profitable to start the season. There would be nothing worse than just tanking to start the year and losing $500 right off the bat.

But, I had a pretty good week. All told, I was profitable on three of the four sites, netting $334.48. That’s a 16.7 percent increase in bankroll, which is great for one week. Here’s the breakdown:

Site Start Finish Net
FanDuel 600.00 747.44 147.44
DraftKings 600.00 768.00 168.00
StarStreet 400.00 438.90 38.90
DraftDay 400.00 380.14 -19.86

Not a bad start. I wish my tournament lineups didn’t look like they were put together by a third-grader, but other than that, I was pleased with the heads-up results. I actually won nearly 90 percent of my heads-up matches on FanDuel and DraftKings, so that was outstanding.

If you aren’t playing daily fantasy football, you should be. There’s really a lot of money to be made right now. And you can play me a few different ways.

First, I’d DEFINITELY sign up over at DraftKings. I just finished in the top 100 in their Week One $1 Million Kickoff (yes $1 million in one weekend-long league) and took home $1,000 for the effort.

I’m telling you that there’s lots of money to be made in daily fantasy, so sign up at DraftKings, buy my weekly projections (with optimized lineups), and kick some ass.

DraftStreet and I have just teamed up and we’re running an awesome promotion through which you can get my weekly projections package AND my daily fantasy book for free. Just sign up with $15 or more over at DraftStreet and you’ll get the weekly package and the book free of charge. Those two items cost $25 on my site, so it’s really an awesome deal.

I’ll also be participating in DraftDay’s Expert Challenge. For just $2.20, you can win a qualifier to play me in a bracket-style challenge with a $1,500 prize pool. OR visit here and enter the code ‘EXPERTNFL’ to play for free.
